South Riding - The Complete Series

All 13 episodes of the 1970s ITV drama based on the novel by Winifred Holtby. Yorkshire headmistress Sarah Burton (Dorothy Tutin) is a left-wing feminist who is disgusted to realise that her plans for her pupils will be stymied by the social injustices they face. She also finds herself falling in love with Tory landowner Robert Carne (Nigel Davenport), whose wife is suffering from insanity, and whose core beliefs stand in opposition to her own.
