This is a series of stand-alone stories about an estate agency with a big difference. Christian Dickson does not find you the house you ask for, but the house of your dreams. These are usually dreams you haven't dreamt yet. Each house is unique and every client Christian deals with has certain needs, that mostly even they do not know they have. Christian says that many houses hold secrets, and he is very adept at finding them out. It is these secrets that help clients decide to buy the homes proposed to them. The same secrets change their lives in mysterious ways. The stories uncover mysterious objects and quirky things offered by each house, and watch as people's lives change after they move into their new homes. Each book in the series is a complete story, and each story is totally different from the last. Book 2 is about a house with a beautiful black orchid in the garden. The flower seems to hold everyone enthralled and they even credit it with giving them good luck, or when they forget to water it, extreme bad luck. As the agency expands Eleanor starts work as a part-time secretary, but she has much to learn about devious clients. Pip, Christian's brother also arrives to start working in the agency.
