'Waters of the Chagres' is a book containing a novella and five short stories. 'Chagres' expands on and explains in depth the rumors that when U. S. forces finally handed over their remaining assets in the Republic of Panamá at the end of 1999, they left behind 500 M16 rifles. Since that date, stories of what happened to the arms have been circulating around the world. This book puts the rumors to rest. 'Just another River' is the tale of the crash of an aircraft carrying used U. S. currency, in the Brazil jungle and how it was eventually recovered. 'Cold, Colder, Coldest' tells of an American soldier, who was erroneously imprisoned and how he righted this wrong. 'All That Glitters' explains how a military aide became rich by exploiting a careless mistake at a gold mine. Finally, 'Escape and Emeralds' tells of the kidnapping and escape of a hostage held by rebels in Colombia.
