This book analyses the thematic and technical concerns of the plays of Mahesh Dattani, tracing in general the superb co-ordination of the subject and form, and looking in particular at its appropriation within modern Indian theatre. Though Dattani is modern, he is not far from Indian tradition; in fact, he gives a new meaning and value to Indian culture and tradition.
