This book discusses the chemistry and applications of some organogold compounds; the area of organogold chemistry has blossomed in the past decade. Organogold compounds in general predominantly contain the metal in one of two oxidation states-- namely, gold(I) or gold(III). Also, reaction of organogold compounds has been discussed such as substitution reactions, oxidation of Gold(I), elimination and thermal decomposition, hydrolysis and acidolysis and insertion reactions together with organogold catalysis. Further, applications of Some Organogold compounds in organic synthesis, catalysis involving organogold compounds and preparation of organogold complexes have been explained. In the same manner, biological Applications of some organogold compounds has been discussed in items such as antibacterial and antifungal activity, antimalarial activity, antiamoebic activity antitrypanosomial with biological applications of nanogold Particles and some medical applications of organogold compounds with side effects of gold metallodrugs.
