TIRUPATI (In Rayalaseema Region) : It is a Vibrant Pilgrim city located in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh, dramatically sited at the foot of bluff red sand stone that marks the Tirumala Hills. It has close links to two metros i.e., Chennai and Bangalore at a distance of 150 kms and 258 kms respectively. Tirupati is the foothill city of Tirumala. Tirumala is the abode of Lord Venkateswara, is visited by over 180 lakh (2001) devotees annually. The city has a population of 4,59,985 (2011) and has been made as a Corporation. Vijayawada (In Coastal Region) : The city is situated at the foot of a low range hills of Indrakeeladri on the northern bank of the river Krishna. This is the third largest city in the state of Andhra Pradesh after Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. It is also one of the important commercial and transport centres of the state.
