The scientific study of the nervous systems underwent a significant increase in the last two decades, principally due to research at receptor level and revolutions in technology that has led to utilize more sophisticated methods for monitoring physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology and molecular biology of the brain in health and disease. This book "Neurochemistry, Neuropharmacology and Behavior" is an attempt to address and document neurochemistry, neuropharmacology and behavioral at cellular level. The aim is to provide an overview of the science behind our understanding of brain function in health and disease. A central point of the book is that drugs alter the neurochemistry of the central nervous system at pre or postsynaptic sites and that these changes form the common scientific basis for behavior in health and disease.
