Oil and natural gas is the important factors and economy of a country depends on it. Consumption of oil and natural gas has been increasing day by day but reserves and production has not been increasing in that proportion, so every year its demand has accumulated. India is growing economy, it needs sufficient oil and natural gas to meet its demand and maintaining its growth rate. It is necessary to find out diversification source to meet this demand. Government has been promoting every level to find out multiple sources for consistent supply of oil and natural gas. For meeting its energy demand, it has diversified its sources of supply. So diversification of supply is essential. Central Asia's oil and natural gas is one of the important sources of supply. The Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline has been under construction. Due to disturb political situation in Pakistan and Afghanistan, ithas been postponed. If these two countries would have normalised their political situation and stop their terror activities in their space, then it would be accessible and cheapest transit route to India.
