A conflict arises between acting CEO Seth Sheridan and Public Relations Manager/Events Planner, Lydia WIndsor when she tries to revive the grand resort hotel The Spindrift's annual Winter Solstice Ball. He sees nothing but unnecessary expenses while she sees a sizable profit being made. Both Seth and Lydia have personal issues they are working through, she with a brief marriage that has been annulled, he by the betrayal of the woman he thought he would be marrying. The ailing elder CEO and his wife, Seth's parents, adore Lydia and help persuade their son to trust the young woman's ability to plan events that draw crowds. Despite Seth's negative attitude and bad behavior, he and Lydia must work together to make the Winter Solstice Ball a rousing success. Along with the ball Lydia has planned a week full of holiday themed events that she's calling the Holiday Extravaganza which will culminate with the grand, romantic ball. With Lydia's ex-husband wanted by the police for assaulting her, and Seth's former flame showing up at the Spindrift to try to win him back, they find themselves drawn to one another and then wrenched apart.
