When new student Mitzi Mufflin, who happens to be blind, joins the gang at Mortimer Potts Elementary School, she's thrilled to be named principal for the Day. Author Liz Cooper weaves funny and heartwarming tales about smart children with disabilities, while avoiding the typical (and tired) bully vs. disabled victim plotlines. Mitzi is bold and decisive . She demonstrates good leadership, problem-solving, creativity, and independence. The other students are diverse and multi-talented and were originally introduced in Bluebell Skinks Wheelchair Kid. This book is second in a series, but can easily stand alone. Illustrator Maria Santucci captures the humor and essence of the story by adding detailed illustrations throughout the book. Mitzi Mufflin gives readers the opportunity to view the world from a different perspective.
