The Episcotape Letters David W Virtue
The Episcotape Letters
David W Virtue
The Screwtape Letters written by the late C. S. Lewis has become a model for satire about the current state of the Anglican Communion, especially the Episcopal Church. In my own more modest attempts I have attempted to emulate the great Lewis with my own reflections on the state of The Episcopal Church through this literary device. I began writing them in 2004 and I continue to write them to this present day. I have chosen the names Teufel and Faust as the senior and junior devil in these letters. Teufel is a devil, a creature of hell, a demon, a fallen angel from German mythology. Faust is a charlatan who makes a pact with the Devil, exchanging his soul for unlimited knowledge and worldly pleasures. I have also added a number of miscellaneous essays at the conclusion of these Episcotape letters for your reading enjoyment. More of my writings on the Anglican Communion can be read here: www.virtueonline.org and on Facebook: https: //facebook.com/virtueonline
