Have you ever gotten trapped in a parallel state of consciousness, somewhere between sleeping and wakefulness, unable to breathe for the pressure on your chest, heart palpitating, out of body, paralyzed, unable to move?Have you ever awakened, from a surreal dream state, vocal cords frozen, unable to call out for help, even to someone laying right beside you?Have you ever had the sensation of floating out of your physical body, sinking or falling, weightless, adrift ...and what or who is that presence in the room? This is no small thing, not necessarily the ramblings of someone experiencing a psychotic break. But that's exactly what it sounds like and how it feels ... Until after the sigh of relief that "it" is over, and the shallow breath of fear inhaled, waiting ... wondering ... will I survive the next one? Will this ever stop? If any of this sounds familiar in any way, know, I have been there, I am there, we all are there, whether we realize it or not. When I'd had enough of the dismissive suspicion after confiding in trusted friends and professionals, the vacant stare, the rise of the left brow ... I started doing my homework, and as extensive a research project as I could bear. Not so much about what I "found," but what I "lost." I lost a knee jerk reaction to falling into fear of the unknown because it became known. I rose into spiritual confidence through committed discipline and daily practice. In this book, I share my findings.
