In this story, the author uses the forest as a background for the normal day-to-day interaction between the plants and critters. She gives life to two very different but close mushroom friends, Deda Rae and Francine. One is a delicious mushroom while the other is a harmful form of toadstool. However, in the forest, the critters and plants respect the others' role and purpose. Then, Mr. Jellie appears looking for a yummy meal of fried mushrooms. Banding together the forest critters trick Mr. Jellie into trying some earth natural onion tea. While napping some popcorn which has accidentally spilled from his pocket is activated by the warming sun. You, too, will be surprised by her unique story ending.
