The eleventh book in the series has the same mystery and twists as the previous books. The two senior detectives from Scotland Yard, Richard Rayner, and Frederick Morgan, accompany their wives to see the famous inventor Alexander Bell give a presentation at the palatial Banqueting House. Unexpectedly, they witness the murder of Mr. Bell's young assistant. A complex murder inquiry begins, which eventually sees the famous Chief Inspector focusing his investigations amongst the gangster community of New York. A series of murders is committed whereby the victims are all women, left naked on park benches inside the Royal Parks of London.
