Our universe is a strange and dangerous place, adrift in an infinite multiverse. Consider if you will, the phenomena of exploding suns, black holes, antimatter, vacuum energy, inflaton fields, quantum entanglement, wormholes, and the light-speed barrier that delays communication and movement in space. Consider the improbable and seemingly random events that produced the "just right" conditions for life on earth, and ask why worldwide extinctions over the last half-billion years enabled the relatively recent emergence of human intelligence. Consider why humans have not yet found any evidence of other spacefaring species, which begs the question: Why are we on this planet, in this universe, at this time, apparently alone?
