The Bergamasco Shepherd is a herding dog. This means that it can replace a human to take care of a herd of sheep or cattle. With this dog around, all the animals in a herd will be controlled and guided, and protected as well.



It's quite easy to recognize this breed of dog. It has long, thick hair and its fur is quite matted - there are strands of hair that are weaved together.
