'Every bar of the score of Rage d'Amours permeates a sinister beauty', wrote de Standaard. Rage d'Amours is an essay on passion. It portrays the turbulent relationship between Juana la Loca (Joanna the Insane, 1479-1555) and Philippe le Beau (Philip the Handsome, 1479-1506) and more particularly her unyielding love after Philip's death, when she was not able to part from him and took his embalmed corpse around on nocturnal wanderings through central-Spain.
