"Words are symptoms, and the same thought could be applied to music, as far as I think... Almost ten years have gone by since I started writing a series of works which could be considered also to be musical portraits. These are works dedicated to the musicians with whom I regularly collaborate and who inspired me to write these "tangos". The word "tangos" is in inverted commas, because they could not be referred to as what is habitually known as "tango", but if we consider tango as an authentically artistic expression, then my music can be defined as tango as well."
