Long before a solo recording career beckoned Ann Peebles supported the legendary Soul Stirrers on tour. The experience proved inspirational, the group featuring as it did the magical Sam Cooke. Later she would make a great Queen to Al Green's King at Hi Records where she recorded a series of great singles and 7 albums.
