One Day I'm Going to Soar Dexys

The new album by Dexys (formerly known as Dexys Midnight Runners) around band leader Kevin Rowland! Following the three studio albums from the 80ies 'Searching For The Young Soul Rebels' (1980), 'Too-Rye-Ay' (1982), and 'Don't Stand Me Down' (1985) it took another 27 years to get the fourth longplayer finalised. Kevin Rowland explained the 27-year gap between albums "I wanted to have material that I felt confident enough about ... I've got high standards, and that's a blessing and a curse. The perfectionism hasn't gone, although these days I won't storm out of a room swearing and shouting at people." 'One Day I'm Going To Soar has eleven new songs written by Kevin Rowland and various co-written ones including four with Jim Pater on and one with Glen Matlock. The longplayer was realised with the original and former Dexys Midnight Runners members Pete Williams (bass), Jim Paterson (trombone), Mick Talbot (piano, keyboards), who later joined Style Council, Galliano etc.
