Dixieland Goes West
Lawson Haggart
A popular attraction on the Dixieland scene for decades starting in the early 1930's, trumpeter Yank Lawson joined forces in the 1950's with top bassist Bob Haggart, one of the last survivors of Bob Crosby's legendary Bobcats; to form the Lawson Haggart Band - cementing a musical partnership that lasted over 40 years. Their classic 1960 audiophile recording "Dixieland Goes West" can be described as a Dixieland meets Western Swing affair and features the classics "Ole Buttermilk Sky," "I'm An Old Cowhand" and "Yellow Rose of Texas". All selections have been newly remastered.
