Forrest Jimmy
Audiophile edition
Ever since Coleman Hawkins established the tenor saxophone in jazz, it has been impossible to imagine jazz without it. The masters of this instrument make houses shake with their lively blues and tame wild beasts with their tender love ballads. Jimmy Forrest, born in St. Louis, Missouri, played with Fate Marable in the 1930s, later with Jay McShann and in the 50s as a successor to Ben Webster with Duke Ellington.
