Avantgardet is one of Sweden’s most acclaimed acts, both live and on record.

On April 24, the multi-Grammis-nominated indie band will release their new album “United States of Sweden”—an album that captures the forward momentum and resistance the band has embodied since their debut in 2016, and which has, among other things, earned Rasmus Arvidsson recognition for his lyrics.

The new record arrives ten years after Avantgardet’s debut and portrays what Sweden has become during that time.

As early as 2023, Christian Gustafsson wrote in Barometern that “Rasmus Arvidsson and his band Avantgardet now possess a catalogue of songs that most artists don’t accumulate in a lifetime.”

In April, that catalogue grows even stronger with the release of “United States of Sweden”, Avantgardet’s eleventh full-length album—just ten years after their widely acclaimed debut.
