John Patitucci

World-renowned acoustic and electric bassist/composer John Patitucci is one of the most influential jazz musicians of his generation. His amazing career includes work with a hall of fame of artists including B. B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Natalie Cole, and his incredible association with Chick Corea spanning three decades.

In 1997, John served as Master of Ceremonies at the inaugural Bass Day celebration, a festival that brought together the world's greatest bassists. In this hour-long DVD, John performs Coltrane's Giant Steps and five of his original compositions on both acoustic bass and 6-string electric bass. Experience John's masterful technique in solo, duo, trio, and quartet settings. Following the performance, John hosts a candid question and answer session with the audience on all topics from his own personal bass setup to composing.
