Drama based on real events that took place in Brooklyn's Orthodox Jewish community in the late 1990s. Jesse Eisenberg stars as Sam Gold, a 20-something devout Hasidic Jewish boy who works in his father's fabric shop and wants nothing more than to be an asset to his family and his community. Sam's innocence is exploited by his best friend's older brother, Yosef (Justin Bartha), who recruits him on a mission to import 'medicine' from Amsterdam.
Before long Sam has become immersed in a whole new lifestyle as the money and glamour of the international drugs trade work their seductive magic.
