Spanish-language drama in which an old sailor takes some overdue shore leave and heads to visit the relatives he has neglected so badly. Farrel (Juan Fernández) lives his life at sea, working in relative anonymity on a large ship. When the ship approaches Tierra del Fuego, Farrel surprises his captain by requesting shore leave.
It appears that Farrel was raised in a village nearby and has decided he wishes to return to see his mother (Nieves Cabrera). Unhappily, his mother suffers from Alzheimer's and is unable to remember her son, though his daughter, Analia (Giselle Irrazabal), can't remember him for a different reason - his prolonged absence. An inveterate loner, Farrel must face up to the fact that he has cut himself off from any form of human community and decide whether to stay the course or try to find another way of living.
