Return Of The Hero Return of the Hero

French historical comedy starring Jean Dujardin and Mélanie Laurent. In 1809 Captain Charles-Grégoire Neuville (Dujardin) leaves for war shortly after getting engaged to Pauline (Noémie Merlant). When his fiancée falls ill, her sister, Elisabeth (Laurent), writes letters to her, posing as Neuville, in the hope that it will improve her condition.

While the ruse is a success, complications ensue when the real captain returns home several years later.
