Harry Connick Jr, Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd star in this family drama sequel based on real events. The film continues the true story of Winter, a dolphin who was rescued by the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and given a prosthetic tale, having lost her own following a crab trap accident. When her elderly dolphin friend Panama dies, Winter becomes depressed and her health rapidly declines.

Dr. Clay (Connick Jr) is given one month by a USDA inspector to pair Winter with another female dolphin, to ensure her return to full health. With time running out, the CMA staff save a young female they name Hope.

She may just be the perfect new companion for Winter but will the two animals bond?
