In Rowdy Herrington's GLADIATOR, Tommy (James Marshall) and Lincoln (Cuba Gooding, Jr.), two poor high school students on the brink of juvenile delinquency, have taken up boxing. Although it's a dangerous sport, fighting helps keep them off the street and out of violent gangs. It's also a way for these boys to earn needed money, sublimate anger towards absent fathers, and numb the emotional pain of their broken homes. Unfortunately, all the young fighters are controlled by Horn (Brian Dennehy), a nefarious businessman exploiting hungry boxers like prize pigs for his illegal matches. But with a little luck and each other's friendship, Tommy and Lincoln may beat all the odds.
