Charles Bronson stars in this western directed by J. Lee Thompson. Troubled by a recurring dream about a giant white buffalo, Wild Bill Hickok (Bronson) travels west with hopes of tracking down the mythical beast.

When he meets Native American chief Crazy Horse (Will Sampson), whose daughter has been killed by the rampaging animal, the two decide to pool their resources and venture together into the snowy forests of the North. However, the buffalo proves a more formidable foe than either of them had expected.
