The Mission formed in 1985 when singer Wayne Hussey and bassist Craig Adams strayed from goth mainstays Sisters of Mercy. Plying a just slightly more melodic, but still ferocious, brand of dark-tinged rock, the band swiftly became a live phenomenon and UK chart regulars. SUM AND SUBSTANCE features a collection of tracks covering their best years from the late-'80s through to the early-'90s. Tracks include 'Serpents Kiss', 'Wasteland', 'Butterfly On A Wheel', 'Deliverance', 'Like A Child Again' and many more.
