Sense and Sensibility was the first novel to be published of the seven that we owe to Jane Austen. Its protagonists are the young Dashwood sisters who, from opposite characters, share the same desire for the pursuit of happiness. Elinor, calm and patient, hopes to discreetly overcome the obstacles that prevent her relationship with Edward Ferrars. On the contrary, Marianne, impetuous and extrovert, does not hesitate to let herself be conquered by the seductive Willoughby. Both will discover that meaning must be mixed with sensitivity when status and wealth rule the rules of love.
