Little Women

Alcott created Little Women during 1867 and early 1868; He wrote eagerly for two and a half months based on her experiences growing up with three other sisters in Concord, Massachusetts. The novel was first published on September 30, 1868, was immediately successful, and sold more than two thousand copies. Critics were already labeling it a classic. Some readers demanded a second volume, sending letters to Alcott requesting a continuation. And, as with some classics, this work has been overshadowed (in the case of the editions in Castilian) due to poor translations, purges and cuts, [citation needed] in addition to what some [who?] qualify as "corny interpretations", when, in reality, Little Women is a real revolution both within nineteenth-century literature and within American literature of those times. The novel is capable of breaking and dealing with the rules of etiquette and conduct that commonly applied to women of the time. In addition, it introduces (especially through the character of Jo) authentic revolutions in what has to do with the female characters of literature at the time.
