An Outpost of Progress" is a short story written in July 1896 by Joseph Conrad, drawing on his own experience at Congo. This book gives a short but firm tale about the myth of progress. Had I read it sooner, I likely would have used it in most of my essays in school. It is an important read for all. La storia è molto breve, è una sorta di preludio al capolavoro letterario di Conrad "Heart of Darkness". Però è molto profonda e mette i luce aspetti estremamente interessanti riguardo all'epoca del colonialismo.
