My name is Mike Randle, I guess. I awakened after an earthquake measuring over 10 on the Richter scale destroyed my town, my area in Southern California, with no memory of who I was. In time some memories began to surface. I was alone or at least it seemed that way. There were others around, and in time I came in contact with some of them. One lucky day I met and befriended Dani MacIntire. We took up residence together, and in time became lovers. Dani and I fought through many difficulties for a long time. We had to scrounge for food constantly and were lucky to find bottled water. It was A New Life, a new way of living, a struggle sometimes, good times balanced against bad, and full of trouble, but most of all for Dani and me, full of love.
