"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God" (Mt 5:8)."This is the will of God: your sanctification; that you avoid impurity, that each of you know how to possess your body in sanctification and honesty, without being led by undisciplined passions, as the pagans who do not know God do. God has not called us to impurity, but to holiness" (1 Thess 4:3-7). Chastity is the queen of virtues. He who defeats the vice contrary to chastity will easily triumph over all the others; he who, on the contrary, allows himself to be dominated by impurity, will easily fall into many other vices and will be accused of hatred, injustice, and sacrilege. Great, therefore, is the Excellence of Chastity; but terrible also is the war that the flesh declares to strip us of it. Our flesh is the most powerful weapon the devil has at his disposal to enslave us; therefore, it is very rare to emerge unscathed or even victorious from this battle. Therefore, all those who wish to preserve the virtue of chastity must be extremely prudent: it is impossible to remain chaste if we are not constantly vigilant about ourselves, because negligence leads very easily to the loss of chastity.
