the wonderful story the three loversIt was a suddenly cold afternoon in late September in years past. The streets were very dark and black, because the sky was full of dense clouds with water; and from time to time, driven by a steady wind, there were small gusts of fine rain. All who walked on the pavements of London shuddered slightly, for the summer had disappeared in a few hours and he had been buried in this abrupt darkness; and the wind seemed to come flying from every corner of the earth with a completely unexpected poison.
