"The Joys and Sorrows of Young Harry - They who perish when they love" is (after the first "Life's Downy Dawn - Young Heinrich Heine") the - independently readable - second part of the, essentially fictive, biography of one of the greatest and most enigmatic love poets of Germany. It describes his youth and teenager loves in Düsseldorf and Spain. His mother Betty, father Samson and uncle Simon appear; in addition, his teachers at the Düsseldorf Lyzeum, e.g. Schallmeyer, Kramer ... But above all his youthful loves and love affairs: Béatrice, Inga, Natalja, Sylvette, Mercedes, Isabel, Loli, Silke, Désirée, Monique ... But no less also the idols of his erotic imagination: La Maja, Juno, Chrisis, Zuleima ... And they appear without a figleaf.
