In the Shadows of Fatima
Lucien Gregoire
In 1917, a 'Lady' was said to have appeared to children at Fátima, Lucia Santos age 10, and her cousins Francisco Marto age 8 (retarded) and Jacinta Marto age 7 who are known as 'the Fátima seers'. As Lucia told reporters: "Only I am brave enough to hear the 'Lady'" The events were witnessed by crowds. All anyone saw was a little girl talking to the air. After each vision, Lucia would relate the 'Lady's' message to reporters. Fátima faded into obscurity until a pope was searching for a supernatural event to authenticate a political goal. In 1941, Pius XII instructed Lucia to put into writing the dialogue she had with the Lady in 1917. There are glaring discrepancies between what she wrote in 1941 and what newspapers published in 1917. And they add up to... MURDER For the first time, the Story of Fátima as we know it today vs. the Story of Fátima as it actually took place in 1917.
