Richard Sibbes
This book is an exposition upon and application of Isaiah 42:1-3 and Matthew 12: 20, by one of the early, but influential Puritans, Richard Sibbes (1577-1635). Sibbes goal was to encourage Christians in low spirits or depression. He explains how God comforts his people and brings them in closer fellowship unto Himself through the vicissitudes and trials of life. Sibbes, as a pastor, saw that even the Christian is not immune from despondent thoughts and fears. From his initial writing of this treatise in the seventeenth century until this age in which we live, Sibbes' counsel administers a soothing balm to the hurting. This book came out as 7th grave level on the Flesch Kincaid reading test. In easy to read 16' Tahoma Font.
