Man, Go Home Daniel Fagan
Man, Go Home
Daniel Fagan
An increasing number of children find themselves without an active paternal presence in their lives. According to Pew reports, only 11 percent of American children lived apart from their dads in 1960. Today approximately 30 percent live apart from their dads. My dad may not have been the most educated. He was not taught to help me with math and other subjects I was tasked with, but he was always there. His presence was enough to show me that he cared about me as well as my sisters and my brother. My dad was not perfect, but he was always present. So, to all the men who decided to leave, if it was due to a misunderstanding or anything that can be corrected, I say, "Please, go home!"
