"Under The Mango Tree 'is a children's fiction book, depicting the life of a family in the African Village of Nzengita in the Democratic Republic of Congo, disturbed by war, and their journey to emigrate to Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada and how they integrate into a new society, and share their traditions and blend with people in a the small fishing village of Bay de Verde. It gives particular descriptions of the African Tradition of the Tree of Palaver.
