When Ella finds a strange message written in a book in the Rare Book Collection of the library, she is convinced that it will lead to a strange land full of wonders. Her little brother, Leo, is convinced that it will lead them to buried treasure. Ella's pet dragon, Blue, is convinced that they will end up getting themselves into trouble. Blue, of course, turns out to be correct. The message leads them to a secret, mist-shrouded valley. Finding themselves stranded in a place of terrifying creatures and secrets that have been kept for generations, Ella, Leo, and Blue must avoid fire-breathing dragons, angry bird-men, and dangerous trolls as they uncover the secret behind the curse that hangs over the valley and hopefully find a way home.
