The noise of branches shaken by an incessant wind that hisses through the trees and raises and drags millions of dead leaves into as many tiny dancing whirlpools that appear and disappear in the thick fog that covers and suffocates everything and that only in a few stretches thins out slightly to leave nothing but desolation shine through.
Cold: still cascades of water. Silence: no longer the roaring on the rocks once colored with moss, now frozen.
Desert: not a living soul is encountered in these gray places, without colors, without smells; not animals that cross the fields, the woods, the paths; here is nothing, all is silent ... all is silent ... all is silent ...
No ... wait a moment ... you hear something ... a sound of footsteps ... a crunch of dead leaves ... here, now you see something ... someone, it's a woman; she walks slowly, her feet are bare, her dress light, but she doesn't seem to feel cold; her face is relaxed and... it's sad... she's very sad. She looks young, but the light in her eyes reveals the joys and sorrows of a long life.
