Freedom and Constraint in Caribbean Migration and Diaspora was borne out of the June 2006 conference Caribbean Migration: Forced and Free . It explores the contemporary nature of migration, the socio-economic, political and cultural impact of movements across and outside the Caribbean region. The collection highlights and examines varying discourses on race, transnationalism and the emerging concept of Diaspora , providing insight for the academic, decision maker, student or anyone interested in migration studies. This volume represents the experience of the entire Caribbean region, Anglophone, Francophone, Hispanophone, and Dutch presented by authors from across the region.
