Decades ago, William Cowper, by writing the poem - "God made the country and man made the town", gave an interview to the Western literary world with the importance of the village. For a country like India, the village is the soul of the country. Without village we cannot even imagine India. It is a different matter that with the passage of time, the villages were urbanized at an unprecedented fast pace and our villages were encroached on uninterruptedly in the fulfillment of the material cravings of the human beings. But the village laughed at its neglect. From Bollywood to Hollywood, it rained money by putting on the tadka of the village. But not a single penny of the money earned was spent on the development of the village
