El yacimiento Paleolitico del 12 de Octubre. Geoarqueologia en el valle inferior del Manzanares Jorge Morin De Pablos

The Palaeolithic sites of "12 de Octubre" and "Villaverde-Barrio de Butarque" (Madrid) and its geological contextualisation in the lower Valley of the Manzanares River. The archaeological excavations carried out along the years 2005 and 2006 in these archaeological sites, have revealed new informations about the Manzanares in the Pleistocene. Morphologically the geological terraces in "12 de Octubre" archaeological site are +21-22m high over the tahlweg of the Manzanares River. It detachs the presences of the levallois operatives chain. It's accompanied by bifaces. The "Villaverde-Butarque" archaeological site stream is +25-28m high and the lithic industry correspond to the Lower/ Middle Palaeolithic Transition. Its chronological range covers from ?33.000 and ?24.000 años B. P."
