Young people in rehabilitation centers for young offenders are a group that deserves special attention when it comes to examining the relationships between alcohol/drugs and violence. The purpose of this book is to describe the links between psychoactive substances (i.e., alcohol and illegal drugs) and violence among young offenders. More specifically, it aims to expose the role of: a) intoxication; b) the need for money to obtain drugs; and c) the illicit drug distribution system in the manifestation of violent behavior among youth.
