Our work focuses on the rhetorical form of frequent use in linguistic discourses that we find in texts written in Spanish and also addresses the two parts (theoretical and practical) as well as explaining the concept of metaphor. The most important modern school that has dealt with this subject is the development of this science and its relations with other intellectual ideologies, highlighting the role of metaphor in the interpretation of the meaning of linguistic discourse. This study allows the formulation of a conceptual framework for the purposes of metaphor in the linguistic discourse used in the press in Spain. This work studies rhetorical models of the Spanish press, specifically the speeches of the writer in the Spanish newspaper El País, (Lluís Bassets), the writer in the opinion page (electronic version) and published in the Internet service, which will include an analysis of metaphorical formulas in all fields or dimensions of life as the world of sport, the animal world, the machine, force, or the military field, etc.. The work ends with a conclusion that reflects the results extracted from the journalistic sources of the study.
