IATA (the International Air Transport Association) is a free association of air carriers. The members of IATA are carriers. The idea of grouping air carriers into an association took shape on August 25, 1919, when representatives of six European airlines, meeting in The Hague, founded IATA. The presentation of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), an international aeronautical organization that fights for the interests of airlines with political authorities, air safety services and aircraft manufacturers, which is at the center of billing between airlines, recognized by the latter as a reference in the settlement of dangerous goods, remains an interesting undertaking to support, inform and continue the work of international safety and harmonization of the said association.
